Year-End Wrap Up + Christmas Tree Cupcakes!

Updated: Apr 19, 2022

'Tis the season to get stuff done. I often have writing deadlines that come due at the end of the year. My #WIP, for example, is unofficially due at the end of December. Talk about going out with a bang! Literally... there are explosions.

The Stolen Stars is wrapping up nicely. I'm currently in the thick of the climactic ending and boy is it both stressful and exhilarating to finally be there! After all the planning and stress...yaay!

It's also the time of year to break out the fun. I have a large family of eight and when we gather around the table and do our gingerbread houses, paint ornaments, make tamales, you know, Christmassy stuff.

Our houses never turn out. We've tried kits, making the individual gingerbread cookie walls from scratch, graham crackers. They all end up looking like a house on Alderan. So, this year, I found a really fun idea on, where else, Pinterest! This genius idea comes from PreppyKitche.com and is so pretty and versatile. Because we have young kids, we also add candies, sprinkles, and the like, but snow covered is my favorite look.

The link is here, but it's so cute and super easy. All it takes is frosting, cake mix, ice cream cones, and decorations. That's it!

They're also really easy for either young ones or impatient teenagers who really just showed up for the sugar.

I hope you have a fun holiday season no matter the current circumstance. Love and hugs!
